Writer & Editor
Amethyst Loscocco is a freelance writer and editor. Her writing spans creative nonfiction, fiction, technical writing, science writing, and journalism.
Her work can be found, or is forthcoming, in Electric Literature, The Pinch, Gone Lawn, Catamaran Literary Reader, FlashFlood Journal, Tiny Molecules, The Science Writer, Hexagon Speculative Fiction, Sundial Magazine, and elsewhere. She was a finalist for Pinch Journal's 2024 Page Prize in Creative Nonfiction. She's currently working on a memoir.
She has an MA in Science Writing from Johns Hopkins University, and a BA in Molecular & Cell Biology from UC Berkeley. She was a founding editor of the Johns Hopkins MA in Science Writing program's magazine The Science Writer. She's currently an Editorial Assistant for Catamaran Literary Reader.
She grew up on a farm near Truth or Consequences, New Mexico, and now lives in Oakland, California.
